Playgun’s undeniable legacy has produced over $10 million in offspring earnings, and he still boasts a reputation for being one of the most desirable broodmare sires in the industry. It’s getting hard to find the prolific Playgun daughters who were winners in their time, but Select Genes is thrilled to add the incredible Playgun daughter, Play Corn, to the elite mare lineup. Play Corn joins ARC Ruby Playgunia and Chars Gun in the Select Genes program, to make it THREE elite daughter of the legendary sire, Playgun.
Out of Bobcorn, a daughter of Bob Acre Doc, Play Corn won $173,277 in her National Cutting Horse Association career, and her foals have earned $229,513 so far. Her top performer is a gelding by Smooth As A Cat named PlaySomethingSmooth, who won $74,731 in his NCHA career. Play Corn’s son Republicat, by Metallic Cat, owned by Triple D Ranch and shown by Nick Dowers, won both the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity in 2021 and the Reno Benny Guitron Memorial Open Hackamore in 2023.
“The Playgun horses are hearty, tough and talented,” Ty Smith, CEO of Solo Select, said. “There’s an appreciation for these colts in the market, no matter if they go into the cow horse or the cutting. Play Corn is the most significant daughter of Playgun on the market, and it’s our privilege to offer her. We have loved this mare ever since we bought her 2018 colt, Republicat, at the Yearling Sale in 2019. He’s been a winner with Nick Dowers, and we expect to see more of Play Corn’s colts come up in the winners circle over the next few years.”
Play Corn is one of the top performing daughters of Playgun, and we are THRILLED to offer her to you!
